* Douglas, R. Hofstadter is Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Science and Comparative Literature at Indiana University, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Member of the American Philosophical Society, and a Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Social Sciences. His research interests include: the relationship of the self to the outside world, consciousness, analogies, artistic creation, literary translation, mathematics and physics. In addition to his academic achievements, He has published 《Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid》 and 《I Am a Strange Loop》， which won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature (nonfiction), the National Book Award (Science), and the Los Angeles Times Science Writing Book Award, respectively.
